Functions of the Office
Trimble County EMS provides twenty-four hour emergency coverage. The EMS Building is centrally located in the county at 4874 HWY 421N. There are six full-time positions with a crew of two EMT's on duty at all times. Trimble County sometimes exceeds the emergency needs that can be provided by the crew on duty, therefore our 22 volunteers are still of great value to this service. In addition to handling 911 calls, they provide non-emergency services as well.
Our EMS employees are very involved in our community events at schools and in the county. They provide training in First Aaide and CPR to non-profit groups including the boy and girl scouts and youth sports, and teach the importance of the 911 system including when to use it to the elementary classes.
Any group or organization interesting in setting up a training course should contact EMS Director William McCoy for more information.
