Chief - Ronald Barnes
Service: 19 Years
Unit # 8501, Chief Barnes has been a member of the Fire Department since 1990. He has served in almost all positions of the Fire Department. Chief Barnes is in charge of overseeing everything in the Department. He is also in charge of making sure bills are paid, Grants, finance, in charge of all our credit accounts, and also helps with all fund raisers. Chief Barnes is always finding ways to better the Department and the biggest example of that is STATCARE building on the Milton Fire Department property. Chief Barnes contacted STATCARE and got everything underway for them to build to better the county and the Department. Chief Barnes is also in charge of the Explorers Program.

Assistant Chief - Jason Long
Service: 10 years
Unit # 8502, Asst. Chief Long has been a member since 1997. He left in 2000 to join the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Rifleman. While in the service he served in Operation Enduring Freedom in support of 9/11. Asst. Chief Long came back in 2003 as a firefighter and then was promoted to Major and then to Asst. Chief. Asst. Chief Long is also a Senior Dispatcher II with the Kentucky State Police in Campbellsburg. Asst. Chief Long is in charge of billing for runs, small claims suits for non-payments, entering all runs into the NFIRS system, entering all training into the State Training Records, setting up all Fire Schools, he is also in charge of assisting Vicki with the fund raisers, and he also does the Crusade for Children programs, and is the Fire Departments Public Affairs Officer and does news releases after every run.

2nd Assistant Chief - Tommy McQueary
Service: 19 years
Unit # 8503, Major Tommy McQueary has been a member since 1988. Serving in several officer positions. Major McQueary is over the Rescue Truck and all the equipment on it as well as the boat and Aquatrax.

1983 Seagrave Pumper, 6-man cab with 5 pack seats. 1,000 gallon tank, with 40 gallon f-500 tank. 1500 gpm pump, 1400ft of 2 1/2" supply line, 300ft 5" supply line, 200ft 1" booster line, 2 10' 6" hard suction, and one deck gun. Equipped with a bullard thermal imaging unit and a truck mounted 6KW generator capable of running multiple scenes lights and a wide variety of electrical equipment. Truck purchased in late 2002 and put into service in early 2003.

1983 Spartan Pumper/Tanker, 5-man rear open cab, with 3 pack seats. Carries 1,600 gallons of water, with a 1,250 gallon per minute pump. 1200ft 3" supply line, 4 200ft 1 3/4" attack lines (2 crosslay, 2 rear), 3 10ft 6" hard suction, with one deck gun. Truck is equipped with an f-500 inductor system. This truck is used primarily for automatic aid dispatch for Trimble County with the Bedford Fire Dept. Truck was put into service early 2001.

1982 Internation Tanker, carries a 2,200 gallon tank and 2 drop tanks, a 1,500 gallon and 2,100 gallon size. 5 man crew cab allows for extra room for personel on mutual aid runs. Put into service in the early 1990's.

1999 Freghtliner chassis, with 2006 body and tank is our newest truck. This tanker has a 1885 gallon poly tank, and a 400 Gallon per minute PTO pump. 2 100' 1 3/4" attack lines (crosslays), 20' 2 1/2" hard suction, 10' 2 1/2" hard suction, 50' 2 1/2" fill hose. It has replaced 8561 as first out tanker, which is still in service at station 2

1982 Chevy 3500 Mini-Pumper, Used primarily for brush/wildland fires only. 3-man cab pump-and-roll 4x4 truck, with various equipment to fight brush fires. Carries 200 gallon of water and a 250 gpm pto driven pump, 200' 1" booster hose, 100' 1 1/2" attack line (rear), 100' 2 1/2" fill hose, 3 10' 2 1/2" hard suction, 150' 1 1/2" spare attack hose. Put into service in 1998.

1992 Ford F-350 Rescue Truck, 3-man cab, 4x4, equipped with jaws of life system, air bag system, cribbing, ropes, harnesses and repelling gear. Truck put in service in 1992, as a Trimble County Rescue Squad vehicle until 1998, when it was split between the Milton and Bedford fire depts. and was added to the Milton Fire Fleet in 1998 as our rescue truck.

1995 E-350 Support Unit Equipped with various supplies to aid at any fire/rescue scene. used to transport up to 7 firefighters on any Milton runs, or for manpower requests to other mutual aid agencies. Unit can also be used as a mobile command post for larger, longer duration incedents. This unit was used by Milton EMS as their ambulance up till 2003, and was purchased by the fire dept. in 2003 to replace our aging support unit.

2005 Roughneck Rrescue Boat, is used for water rescue incedents on the Ohio river. Milton Fire District covers about 24 miles of the river. due to the increase in traffic along the river, we started a water rescue service in 1997, after the flood of 1997. This boat was purchased in 2005 and put into service in October 2005, replacing the older 1971 aristocraft boat the department owned.

Car 8501

This is the Chief's Command Car, it has mobile radios, hand held radios with charger, scanner, 1 SCBA pack, first responder medical kit, and incident command tools.
